WHO ARE THE RIPPLE EFFECT BAND?

Introducing the women who make up Ripple Effect Band. They are the first women from their community of Maningrida in the Northern Territory to play music and so are strong and brave musicians who are following their dreams. Meet them here.

NGÚDDJA

Ngúddja was written by Patricia Gibson and Jodie Kell. It is a classic rock song that celebrates the many Aboriginal languages of the Maningrida community. The song is sung in Ndjébbana and this film explains the lyrics and the meanings behind the words.

MADJANDEMED

Sung in Kune language, this song is about the small Gilbert's Dragon, a lizard found in the rocky country of the Top End. Tara Rostron (song writer), Marita Wilton and Jodie Kell talk about the recording the song in Sydney

HUNTING SONG

Jolene Lawrence wrote a song in the endangered language of Na-Kara. It tells about hunting for Mud Mussels in her country.
